Specialist care for the digestive system.
A gastroenterologist diagnoses and treats conditions of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas — the full digestive tract. Some of that work is procedural: the colonoscopy that screens for colorectal cancer, the upper endoscopy that investigates persistent reflux or difficulty swallowing. Much of it is the patient, ongoing management of chronic conditions that do not resolve with a single visit. Both halves of that work are what our practice provides, and both are served by a model designed around time and access rather than volume.
Colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
Colonoscopy remains the gold-standard screening procedure for colorectal cancer and the most reliable way to evaluate lower-GI symptoms, recommended starting at age 45 for average-risk patients and earlier with family history or symptoms. Upper endoscopy (EGD) gives direct visualization of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum, for evaluating reflux that does not respond to medication, dysphagia, suspected ulcers, and Barrett's esophagus surveillance. Both are performed with the kind of preparation support and same-day results discussion that concierge access makes possible.
IBD, IBS, and ongoing management
Inflammatory bowel disease — Crohn's and ulcerative colitis — is lifelong and benefits enormously from continuity and quick response during flares. Irritable bowel syndrome, the most common functional GI condition, is among the most poorly served by volume-based care, because it requires real time spent on dietary triggers, stress, sleep, and the slow iteration of an individualized plan. Our concierge model is structurally suited to both: medication management where indicated, integrated plant-forward and FODMAP-aware nutrition, and an office line for the moments between appointments.
